09 May 2024:  Hon. Justice Stephen Musota, Chairperson of the Taskforce reviewing the draft Administration of the Judiciary Service(Terms and Conditions of Service) Regulations, 2023 closed a one-day Stakeholders Consultative Workshop held in the Conference Hall of the Supreme Court Building at the Judiciary headquarters in Kampala.

The workshop discussed the revised draft Administration of the Judiciary (Judiciary Service)Regulations, 2024. Views of various stakeholders were sought to improve and enrich the Regulations by way of modifications, proposals, approvals, recommendations or deletions to ensure that the Regulations, that will be issued by the Chief Justice, take care of all aspects to be regulated under the Judiciary Service.

Hon. Justice Musota expressed his gratitude to the participants for their valuable contributions, emphasizing the importance of continuous learning.

He assured the participants that their views would be taken into consideration and reflected in the final version of the draft Regulations.

He also informed the participants on the remaining process, where the Taskforce will prepare a final draft copy of the Regulations to be submitted to the appointing authority, the Chief Justice, and subsequently to the Judiciary Council for final consideration.

The workshop was attended by Judicial Officers in various capacities including High Court Circuits drawn from different sub regions across Uganda, as well as representatives from other Government institutions, including Ministry of Justice and Constitutional Affairs, Ministry of Public Service and Judicial Service Commission.

The Workshop was moderated by HW Timothy Lumunye, Personal Assistant to the Chief Registrar.
